Toronto Nationals “Class of 2008″ Players Claim Top NHL 2010/11 Season Honours

The Toronto Nationals Hockey Club very proudly acknowledge the recent accomplishments of two graduates of its elite hockey development program.

Tyler Seguin achieved highest honours for a professional hockey player as a member of the 2010/11 Boston Bruins, winning the Stanley Cup in Vancouver on June 15th. Please visit the Toronto Star website for details.

Jeff Skinner was honoured with the Calder Trophy as the league’s top rookie at the NHL Awards in Las Vegas on June 22nd. In January 2011, Skinner was selected to participate in the NHL All-Star game, and was the youngest person ever to play for an NHL All-Star team. Please visit the NHL website for details.

Tyler Seguin was selected 9th overall in the 2008 OHL Priority Selection Draft by the Plymouth Whalers from the Toronto Nationals, and was subsequently selected by the Boston Bruins 2nd overall in the first round of the 2010 NHL entry draft.

Jeff Skinner was selected 20th overall in the 2008 OHL Priority Selection Draft by the Kitchener Rangers from the Toronto Nationals, and was subsequently selected by the Carolina Hurricanes 7th overall in the first round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
